Coláiste Chill Mhantáin TY Fundraiser

  Transition Year students from Coláiste Chill Mhantáin visited the shelter in November for a look around and a talk on animal welfare. They decided after seeing the work we do here in Sharpeshill to undertake a fundraising project for us. They produced a beautiful calendar and Christmas cards and presented us with a cheque for funds raised.

Bonnie is an extremely friendly girl and just loves her cuddles.  She loves people who come and say hello and will rub herself against the fencing so people can still pet her.  She gets on brilliantly with other dogs and has great fun in the dog playing chase with them but will soon be over back to you looking for pets.

Doris – 4yr old female Black Labrador

  Sometimes you can just see sorrow and this poor lady has only today decided to come out of her kennel. She was in total shutdown but once she became accustomed to our voices she began to relax. Doris had the company of children and other animals in her previous life and we would love to see her back living in a happy household again.

Winning streak

A production team from RTE were with us for a days recording and the resulting piece will feature this Saturday evening 10th Nov on Winning Streak from 20.15. Glen the donkey

Glen came into us with another donkey following a report of neglect. His pal was found to be in severe pain and was relieved of his suffering. We are delighted to announce that after many months in our care Glen is off to a beautiful home in Co. Dublin. Its stories like these that keeps us going to do more.

*Homed*Marcus - Male- Shih Tzu x, approx 2 years of age. Marcus is a very pretty fella and loves to play fetch. Faye is a terrier x and came in to us from the dog warden service. She had only settled in when she delivered these 6 puppies. Following a report of concern of cat hoarding our Inspector visited a site and 11 cats and kittens were surrendered to our care and a neutering programme put in place for the remaining adult cats. Once fully vaccinated they will be up for adoption.

Leorna has been waiting patiently for over a year and a half to find the right dog to take into her life. We are delighted that Erin is the chosen one and you can see the bond between them already. Dog Show- Wicklow Regatta festival
