‘It gives me great pleasure to welcome the merger of Wicklow SPCA with the ISPCA.
Both organisations have been in operation for many decades building-up vast experience and expertise in rescuing animals in situations of cruelty, and then rehabilitating these animals to good health and to a new home, their forever loving homes.
Wicklow SPCA Board, chaired by Don Comiskey and its team, led by Centre Manager, Anne Fitzpatrick (who is ably support by Linda Byrne and TJ Myron) can be rightly proud of everything that has been achieved in the Wicklow Centre. It is one of the largest animal welfare sites on the East coast, if not in Ireland, with solid and sensible investment into its services over the years. Wicklow SPCA becomes part of the ISPCA’s Centre network across Ireland. This network is already made up of Donegal Animal Rehabilitation Centre (ARC), ISPCA’s National Animal Centre (NAC) and Mallow Equine Centre (MEC) so Wicklow SPCA will now feature in the ISPCA’s strategic plans for its Centre’s – with the ISPCA looking to develop Wicklow SPCA as flagship centre in the network. We look forward to working with the Wicklow SPCA and the wider Wicklow community ,staff, and volunteers in keeping all animals safe and protected.
Wicklow SPCA is now called ISPCA Wicklow.’
