On Friday 24th July a report was received into the office that a mare was in a state of neglect with some open wounds on her body. We tried to act as quickly as possible and with the assistance of the IHWT and members of An Gardai Siochana the mare and newly born foal were removed to safety. She is receiving veterinary care for her wounds and on antibiotics . She is  also in need of a full dental. Hopefully with monitored care and comfort the mare and foal will recover fully.

Nothing is impossible if you try hard enough.....everyone that has ever supported or contributed to the care of animals will understand what it means to us to see our new kennels almost completed. Clean, fresh, heated , secure individual spaces with 8 fully secure exercise pens. We are running a fundraising campaign to help with the costs of finishing the project . These items include 30 raised dog beds, dog equipment ,food and water bowls, cleaning utensils, brushes and floor squeegees. Larger items include a reception desk and furniture , computer equipment, phone system [...]

In the current climate we are no longer taking on new volunteers or work experience placements. We will update this policy in due course. Many thanks to all those who have offered, we hope to see you again very soon. If anyone has good ideas for fundraisers please get in touch with us. Our main fundraising open days and flag days are currently cancelled so any help would be much appreciated.
