Bug Motel & Wild Meadow

We are planning to develop an area to the left of our main entrance into a wildlife meadow along with bug motel and bird table. TJ will be using an old kennel in the construction of the bug motel. These will hopefully encourage wildlife into the sanctuary and provide a source of entertainment for our younger visitors.

Annual Dog Show

  Our annual dog show is taking place on Sunday July 21st. We will be open for registration from 1pm and the show itself starts at 2pm. There will be 9 different classes with the winner of each going forward for Best Overall Winner. Dog Park Opening in the Evenings

  The Dog Park will be open Monday to Friday (closed Weds) until 8pm each evening from June 24th onwards. Our Dog Park Manager Audrey will be there each evening so please check in with her before entering the park. The perfect place to let your dog roam free safe and secure. The Dog Park is fully fenced and double gated.

Volunteering- Salesforce

A team of over 30 staff from Salesforce were with us for a day of volunteering. All the animals were given a day out and some extra TLC whilst their design team worked on a graphic. What a thoughtful and pleasant group of people and we hope your enjoyed yourselves as much as we did having you here.

Socialisation of dogs

Staff members Linda and TJ completed some kennel management training with ACDH in London at the start of the year and returned with some great plans. We aim to visit different environments and introduce our dogs to different sounds, textures and people. A keen eye

Brendan is a long term volunteer with Wicklow spca and is also involved with the Golden Eagle trust in Co. Wicklow. These are just two of his many photographs of Red Kites and Buzzards which he spotted near the sanctuary. A wildlife meadow and bird hide is something that is part of our future plans at Wicklow spca

Corporate volunteering

Staff members from BCP Asset Management, Salesforce CRM software and cloud computing solutions, Google Ire will spend some days volunteering at Sharpeshill animal shelter. All About Animals

Please join us for our action packed day here. Guest speakers include Dept of Agriculture, ISPCA, Irish Guide Dogs, Juanita Browne (author) and An Garda Siochana. There will be demonstrations running throughout the day from Irish Customs Dogs, Agility from Waggy Mamas and Basic Training from Citizen Canine.
